Maybe it is habit from my childhood but I am used to a dessert after a meal (so long as I cleared my plate

) so I guess I do have a little craving from time to time. For me the answer is to mix real whole foods... for example: last night my son was over, and we had sauteed chicken in a spicy sauce with steamed broccoli (he had wholewheat pasta as well)... about 1/2 hour after the meal we each had some frozen wild blueberries with heavy cream.
I find this approach has far less BG impact than if I were to just eat something sweet by itself... more like a long slow waveform, than a rapid spike
