| If my blood sugar gets above 150, i'll notice a blurring, almost like looking through plastic.
About 6 months before diagnosis, I was having difficulty seeing, went to the ophthalmologist...he fitted me with bifocals and stronger glasses and told me it as just a part of aging. Never once mentioned the possibility of diabetes.
I see a new ophthalmologist now, and have a much weaker Rx for my glasses. Still gets blurry when i'm high though.

T2, diagnosed 8/31/06.
Metformin 500 mg twice daily
HCTZ 12.5 mg every other day for BP
Enalapril 20 mg 1 daily (ace-inhibitor)
Lower carb dieter (approx. 75 total carbs/day, more on weekends), taking chromium, multivitamin and fish oil tablets
Initial A1C 8/06: 9.6
11/06: 6.2.
03/07: 5.3
06/07: 5.4
10/07: 5.3
05/08: 6.2 (after dealing with shingles & bronchiti)
2/09: 5.5 |
