The only way I got my A1c's below 6 recently was to test them monthly using the readily-available home testing kits...I use the one by Choice, and I get it from the local pharmacy or Wal-Mart because this kit gives you results in less than ten minutes.

I have always felt it was weird to wait three-four months between A1c readings...Basically what that said to me was "you don't know where the **** you are for 90 days..." Once I started testing monthly I went from 7.7 to below 6, and honesly it hasn't been that tough after I got used to my strategies I employed to keep my average sugars lower. But the key to this is knowing where you are and where you want to go, which is why I think testing every three months is nutz.
