I'm not an expert

by any means, but I can offer you my opinion. My guess is that it is not the end of the honeymoon period

. Honeymoon periods don't usually last that long...though I'm sure it's not impossible

.
A few questions

... how long have you been on this vial of Levimir? Is it possible that it has spoiled somehow? If this a new type of insulin you started using or is it one you have been using for awhile. Have you gained weight or changed your diet in any way

? Are you less active or have you exercised less recently? Aside from feeling sick from high sugars, how do you feel generally? These things all can impact your blood sugar and may have had a role in the increase in your insulin doses

.
Have you talked to your endo at all about this? He or she may have some insight

on what's going on and also may be able to clear things up for you.
I know that I haven't given you any answers...I just hope I have brought up good questions for you to ask yourself and take into consideration. I hope you sort things out!
