It's good that you didn't pay the $74, but you still paid too much, Drew. Just about every endocrinologist and all Diabetes Educators should be able to hook you up with a free meter at any time without jumping through any hoops. If they don't have any on hand, then you get the sales rep's phone number and they can send you one. The strips are the hook, the meter should ALWAYS be free.
