My main reason for switching to Novolog was it's 50% cheaper than Humalog through my insurance. Humalog is a tier 3 drug (highest copay) and Novolog is a tier 2 drug. So I made the switch mainly for that reason, but also because I've heard it's more recommended for pump users.
Until this summer (I think) only Novolog was approved for pumping, though no one cared if Humalog was prescribed or used. Novolog used to brag about that in big bold letters on their website, but they stopped that recently. There's a thread here somewhere about that...
