It is important to take Lantus about the same time every day (plus or minus 30 minutes). It doesn't last 24 hours for me either, so I split my Lantus, 14 units @ 9:30 AM and 6 units @ 9:30 PM. If I take any more at night, I have horrible lows, but I need more during the day. I see it peak around the 9-10 hour mark, and disappear just past 18 hours.
