OptiClik Pen problem

ok so i just got the opticlik pen yesterday am i already screwed it up...

after injecting i went to remove the needle, but couldnt find the cap that i am supposed to use to remove it...so i try to pull the needle out with a pair of scissors (yeah stupid i know) and i just ended up cutting the needle in half.

is there any way to get it out or do i just have to put in a whole new insulin cartridge? I only have the sample cartridge that the endo gave me to use until my prescription gets here...

i saw there is a little plastic part that the needle is attached to that unscrews and comes off, but i think that is part of the cartridge itself, correct?

any advice?
