It's like someone hit ya over the head with a hammer, isn't it?

Listen, make some goals for yourself, ie, get your sugars under control, lose some weight, exercise consistently, etc. Do something immediately to acheive your goals...and keep in mind that NO ONE is able to accomplish everything they set out to do on the first try, it's the ones who don't stop that change the world.

There are support groups for diabetes, there should be local chapters of the American Diabetes Association in your area, start with looking them up. Call a local hospital or two and ask them about it.

Keep in mind the old indian proverb that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. This disease is like that, and for all of us it is a long journey. But it can be done, we have a member here who was diagnosed in 1940 at the age of 5 and is still kicking! Just take that first step, then the next...and don't stop.
