Thumbs up

Hey man,

Welcome.

I agree, taking it one day at a time will help the craziness. You will be fine, im sure. The fact that you are here shows you are interested in helping yourself do better.

As a paramedic for 8 years and diabetic for over 15, I think I can give you some really good advise considering what I have seen and done. (but it kinda sounds like Im lecturing you, so please dont take it that way!)

My opinion, your main problem now isnt really the diabetes.
Being 350+ at 25 is a really really dangerous thing.

You are DEFINATELY on the right track man. I commend you on cutting the fatty foods and stuff, after time it you keep at it, you wont even want the fatty stuff. It just makes me sick when I splurge now, my belly cant take it like it used to!

The good news is that if you keep it up and TRUELY work at it, add some light exercise and slowly increase it, you will not only shed those pounds, but also significantly decrease the chances of any future problems with your heart, stroke, and diabetes. (and really about a million other things too)

The really really good news, if this is due to your weight and not genetics, you can very possibly eliminate the whole "diabetic" thing!

Even if the diabetes is due to genetics, getting in better shape will make it TONS easier to control.

So thats my advice. Take it for what its worth. But I have seen A LOT in the medical field and if you would ask me whats the one thing you could do to be happier, it would be eat better (your already there) and excerise.

Good luck man, dont let it get you down.
The key is that we control our diabetes, dont let it control us!

So welcome!
As you can already see, here's a LOT of very very helpful people here.
