My Endo was fine with me having Kids as long as my sugars were
under decent control. It was my other 2 Docs that were against it.
They must have heard horror stories from other Docs or books since
they knew very little about about Diabetes or of Diabetic women
having babies. One said if I had a second Baby that I'd go blind or/and
have Kidney failure. Well, my eyes were about the same afterwards
and my kidneys were fine. I'm not sure how many yrs. later you mean
by "later on". I was 27 when I had my Daughter. When you are pregnant
and Diabetic because you are high-risk, you are given more attention and
care. It's alot more stress on your body obviously. I wouldn't suggest
that you have a Baby at age 50, however.
