I had my very first hypo yesterday before lunch and used a bag of jelly beans kept in the fridge for emergencies, I made my Son aware of what was happening and he helped me out, as I couldn't think all cognitive function was gone. I was cold with big goose bumps all over my arms and I was shivering a little...it felt as though I was on an island and no-one could hear me and I couldn't talk to them was I drowning or just floating?

Once I was able to talk, we worked out that all the restricting and cutting back on carbs has 'fed' my eating disorder...I was delaying meals and not eating the correct amount of food and as a result I had a hypo. This is why my diet is different because when I try to follow what everyone else does, I end up with problems. I have to be so careful because eating disorders are dangerous and if I restrict carbs/calories etc, etc I end up in trouble and getting lectures from those watching out/caring for me. I don't like lectures. I have to go about things differently, everyone's diabetes reacts differently to certain things and mine is different again because I have an evil eating disorder and any chance I get to not eat loves it.

I'm seeing my Endo soon - can't come quick enough - and I'll see my dietitian and talk to her about what has being happening. I can't get too focused on my levels because that too, feeds my eating disorder. I want to get my numbers down so I'll do what ever it takes, even if that means being unhealthy.

I don't want to end up dead.

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your eating disorder. I don't have any experience with that kind of problem so I can't offer you any advice. I hope you get things sorted out soon.
