Thanks for the link solox. They tell you that 37 grams are "protected" but don't explain how. Anyway the pasta didn't affect my BGs at all.

Just received 6 boxes of penne (Dreamfields) from Amazon (Free shipping! ) Why bother buying it from anybody else?
Don't even need any coupons as free shipping pays it all!

Yeah.. I was suprised too when I tried it for the first time.

Just ordered a few boxes. Am looking forward to trying it out whenever it arrives. I love alfredo sauce, Di Sorrento has a few nice varieties that have only 3 carbs per serving.

Just wanted to add my own pleasure with the product. They're always handing out $1.00-off coupons and it can be found in most grocery stores (if not, ask the store to order it for you).

Off to scare some vampires with some garlic-flavored spaghetti sauce...

Thanks for this thread! I just picked up a box of the penne at Ralph's.

Will fix it up during the week...

Opera browser wouldn't create the $1 coupon, so I asked for it to be snail-mailed to me for next time...

Okay, this pasta really confuses me. I have heard multiple times that there are 37 non-digestible carbs. Does this mean that they don't count and I only have to take insulin for the 5 remaining carbs? Or, Is there still 37 carbs I have to look out for?

Read the FAQ on the Dreamfields pasta site for more info on that.

Dreamfields Pasta, Healthy nutrition frequently asked questions

In the USA, carbohydrate (CHO) includes non-digestible carbohydrates (I don't know why). Look at the "Fiber" content, and subtract that out for your dosing.

For example, if CHO is listed as 12 grams, and fiber is listed at 4 grams, you would dose for 8 grams of carbohydrate for each serving size.

All CHO must be listed in the US, per FDA guidelines and "clarity" in food labeling.

So, according to this, I only count 5 carbs per serving for the pasta, someone verify this before I eat it.

I count 10 per serving, but many people attest to the 5.

I love dreamfield pasta. I can't tell the difference between this and regular pasta. The only thing that I find is that it is quite expensive ( usually goes for $2.59) and I can't find it in every supermarket. When I do see it on sale I buy at least 6 boxes. I just can't stay away from pasta.

Hmm. Has anyone else experienced this before with this product?

I tried it out for the first time for dinner last week, with a very low carb sauce (3 carbs/serving). Readings 2 hours after were normal, but when I woke up I was over 200 for the first time in a month. So decided to test it again today, but this time try it for breakfast, and watch my reading. 2 hours after 115, 4 hours after 118, then 8 hours later once again over 200. I exercised (treadmill) twice during the afternoon, and still ended up with that high reading.

Anyone else experience this? Goes to show you that everyone is different.
