Pump Wizard

Hello everyone,
I have been an insulin pump user for 5 years I am using the Paradigm 715. I was just wondering if any of you use the pump wizard? I use it all the time and find that it keeps my blood sugars running pretty much in the normal range, unless I screw up when a put in the number of carbs I am eating.
I know everyday is a challange with this disease. All any of us can do is take one day at a time. I have had type 1 for 49 years.
Thanks
Mary

Hi Mary,

I use it nearly all the time. Once or twice, when I disagreed with it, it proved me wrong! I didn't think I still had active insulin, but it knew better. Once or twice though, I knew better than the wizard. I'm glad you are here Mary. I love that the monitor links w/the pump and that the wizard is available.

I'm approaching 29 years, and if I'd listened to all the negative talk - and believed it - I would be in miserable shape by now! But then, things have greatly improved.

I too have a 715 and use the wizard now but resisted it at first. It seems to know pretty well what's needed based on accurate carb numbers.

I also have the 715 and I find the pump wizard to be pretty accurate. It can figure the insulin on board a lot better than I can. Love it.

I hardly ever use it, but I know my basals are off, so I don't have a very accurate estimation of I:C ratio. I've been working on my over night basal as of late and think I've just about got it narrowed down. As soon as I can get my basals on track, I plan to use the wizard exclusively.

I have the 722, and use it 90% of the time... My I:C is 1:10, so sometimes I can easily use the easy bolus instead, when it works out...
