It isn't mickey d's but I had Burger King the other day. 2 steakhouse burgers and a chili. about 150 carbs. 2 and 4 hr pp right around 110. That was for dinner and the next morning woke to a 108. It was delicious!

Fish Filet? I haven't had one in years...I used to love them! I may have order one this week....gee...thanks a lot for the temptation! Hope I get one with a "soft bun"...that's one thing I hate about McD's is getting a crunchy bun...don't eat there often...but they are handy when you are in some situations. I like the consist carb counting, at least. They don't vary by a gram usually...with their tight corporate control.

Ok, I admit it...I am addicted to fast food, and I eat McDonalds "enough"...(that is all I'll admit to.)

I have found that the healthiest (ok, my definition of "healthy" not too bad on carbs, not overwhelming on fat.) is a McDonalds Cheeseburger, and a medium fry. If you get a double cheeseburger, you double the fat, the carb stays about the same.

The burger is about 30g of carb, and the fries about 45g. Not enough fat to have much effect on my blood sugar hours later. (Fat results may vary with the user, of course!)

The healthiest breakfast BY FAR and I will argue this with anyone, is the Egg McMuffin...30g of carb, minimal fat, bland as heck, but no worse that slapping an egg on a muffin with a slice of cheese at home.

In the USA, McDonalds has a nutritional guide on the back of the paper they use to line the trays. There is sometimes the Nutrition listed on the box or packaging, and if not there is usually an 1-800 number on the box that contacts very quick, friendly, and informed McDonalds folks who can tell you the Nutrition value of anything else you need.

To find out how any particular meal (anywhere, not just Mickey-D's) affects you, the only way to find out is to try it (yum!) take the right amount of insulin (or as close as you can guess) and Test Test Test to find out!

It is a Good Idea to be responsible with the healthy choices, but no point in being a saint, is my humble opinion. Life without cheeseburgers is no life at all. (once again, my opinion).

Hope that helps, good luck.

I refuse to eat McDonald's since seeing the video on the "4-Year-Old Hamburger." Trust me, it's gross . Here's the link from youtube:

Talking

Due to my job and the environment I work in, I frequently eat fast food...

BUT, you can do it safely...

Get the double meat burger you want. H*ll, get 2. No fries, No cheese, and No pickles... Get Mayo or Mustard...

Toss the bun and eat it with a knife and fork...

Often, 2 hours after the first bite my BG is 20 points lower than before I eat.

I saw that video and that woman contradicts herself all throughout it.
She says the food doesn't break down so that why it stays in you thighs. LOL and LOL again. Unless you cut open her fat thighs and burgers pop out, they must have broken down and been absorbed.
she says there is no mold on the burgers but then says at the end of the day McD's smells like moldy food. You cannot have it both ways, if the food doesn't mold and there is moldy food, where did it come from? Burger King?
I've worked in the back of dozens of McD's and other restaurants and the smell is deafening to non food workers.
I agree people eat way too much fast food and a healthy fast food chain would be great but who would really eat there. Us but there are millions of diabetics but only thousands taking care of themselves

I have sworn off most fast food unless it is an emergency. You can find the carb and calorie count on most fast food products at

This is EXACTLY what I do once in a blue moon, but I go to In N'Out Burger -- Double Double "Animal" & "Protein" Style -- They wrap it in Lettuce without a bun, and add grilled onions -- (really the best burgers on the west coast IMHO). I get the cheese though most times.

Only fast foods I do are the salads no dressing. If in a real jam will get chicken stirps or nuggets. Total pinch I'll order a chicken sandwich eat the meat, lettice & tomato a little messy but I don't want the bread or mayo.

I try to carry good foods with me for traveling so I can get by without pit stops on the road. Am not even tempted to go to Mickydees any more.
