I can give up about anything. I do miss ice cream. If I could eat ice cream now and again it would be great. For some reason I have never been able to bolus right for it. It always comes back to bite me.

I miss being in control of my body and I miss Virginia ( the state not the girl). This may sound wierd but I miss the satifaction of drinking a cold bottle of water in one gulp, you know the diabetic craving. Ever-since I got my blood sugars below 300 I have not had the craving for water and it doesnt taste the same anymore either. I said it was wierd.

That’s not surprising. I think anyone could get addicted to water with a bg like that When I stopped drinking water, the very next day I sat down at the table with my head on it, couldn’t move. After one glass of ecstasy err water I became human again and soon after ended up in hospital.

I guess what I miss most is being able to eat w/e I fancy instead of cravings for particular foods, which is why I splurge on things like nuts and chocolate once in a while, I don't crave fast food if anything my hate has grown for it.

Have you tried the Dreamfield pasta?

It hardly dents my blood sugar so far. Only 5 digestible carbs per serving and a glycemic index of 13. And - it taskes and textures like 'regular' spaghetti. Not sure I understand how it works, but am glad it does . I can find it at Kroger and Schnucks locally.

Dreamfields Pasta, A low glycemic index (13) and a taste everyone loves!

Just plain old bread! I would like to have a sandwich on white bread....a chunk of cornbread with my beans....biscuits for breakfast....a roll when I go out to eat.
I give in every once in awhile, but pay for it by fighting highs for a day, so I try to make sure it is worth it.

But seriously ... cinnabons, every time I walk into the local mall and I smell that aroma. Occasionally I allow myself the luxury of a half making sure I bolus appropriately, BUT I really long for the whole thing. It helps to picture it sitting on my hips!!

Lloyd...AIC 4.9!!! That is way too awsome!

I was never a sweet eater. But when I was diagnosed with DM, I started craving nothing but sweet things! ODD!!

Also doing the low carb, so I'm staying away from all those things.

Mimi
