best carb counting website???

Hey all

Just looking for a website that has a basic search engine where I can put in a food and it spits out grams of carbs. having a bit of trouble finding one that has a search engine for the food of interest. Most of them have lists you have to hunt down food like "pork enchiladas". Please help

The USDA database is a good place to start. You can search for a food and enter an amount in various ways to get the nutrition info (carbs, calories, fat, protein, vitamins etc).

Calorie King is also good but I think they pretty much use the same USDA databse. The info is presented in a less confusing format, though.

I like dietfacts.com, as it allows you to key in "brand-name" foods. It also has a restaurant area where you find the nutritional info on many of the popular chain restaurants.

I really like FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal. It is really a tracking site, and allows you to do custom entries. If you eat things consistently, you can set it up with your favorites and easily track everything you eat everday and report on your totals and averages.

I like MyFoodDiary.com as it is a good companion to my weight loss goal. Along with carb info, it provides the daily balance (good or bad) total of all nutritional info such as fats, proteins, Vit C and all the other main needs.

You can add your favorite/frequent foods to a fridge to access quickly. You can build a recipe, divide by servings and get carb and nutritional info from those old family recipes.

Much more available also. It costs per month..but I find it worth all the features.
