| Same A1C with new diet Hello everyone! I haven't posted in what seems like forever, but I have some interesting things to have come up. I had blood work done back around the 1st of July. A1C was 7.3, cholesterol was 201. Just had it done again a few weeks ago and A1C was 7.3 (again), but cholesterol was down to 164. I don't take any cholesterol meds, but I've been low carbing since around the end of August. I've lost 19 lbs, and I feel SO much better overall, but that darn A1C didn't budge at all. That is SO frustrating. My meter is showing my average results to be lower than than 7.3 too. I've reduced by insulin needs from 66 units of Lantus a day to 45 units of Lantus a day. I used to take a total of anywhere from 25 to 40 units of Novolog total a day and now I'm down to anywhere from 5 units to 15 units a day. Anyone have any advice on getting that A1C down on this low carb diet?
