      Hi guys! Just checking in...

I have houseguests tomorrow, my SIL who wanted to meet the children... unfortunately she won't. Their case worker is coming here this weekend and she asked for 2 more albums. What a stupid expense for something they'll have for 1 week, grrr... I wish we could say no to these people, and say "Excuse me, we just spent 4k on stuff for the children? Maybe don't make me spend another $100 on unnecessary things?" but we can't. She also asked for 3 full outfits for the children to wear to the hearing on the 24th. At least that is stuff they'll keep later, so I don't mind.

Happy Friday everyone. I've been re-losing re-gained weight here the past few days. 3 lbs down and 3.5 more to go before I get back to my previous low.

Maybe they want each child to have an album of their own, even though they are all going to be together. And at least the outfits will be used. Sorry your SIL won't get to meet the children yet, but hope you all enjoy the time together. Will the case worker stay all weekend? Is it for another house check? Do you have all the beds ready? One more week to go!!!!Will keep praying all goes smoothly.

      hi
new to this thread (and no i haven't read all 80 pages) and wanted to say HI

i very much need to lose weight - we'll see.............i never stick to it, or, i should say, i've never stuck to it in the past - done well for a lil while then emotional eating would rear its ugly head and kick my a$$.
i think i've lost maybe 3 pounds in the past couple of weeks since i've cut out sugar, alcohol and most carbs - that's a start, yes?

and i need to get my booty onto the treadmill everyday as well

What!! You didn't read all 80 pages!! LOL, just kidding.
Good job on 3 lbs, it is a struggle. That is a great start. While there is much controversy on locarb hi fat, how many carbs to eat, etc., I have found that eating 50-60 carbs a day does decrease my desire for carbs and my appetite. However I did not lose weight that stayed off. I have started doing 20 carbs a day and lost 7.5 lbs this week. Funny how the loss went form 7lbs in 4 days to only another 1/2 lb rest of week, till I realized was eating more carbs than i knew due to truvia use. Have you checked out the atkins web site?

welcome to the thread java Yay for the weight loss on all of you who have achieved it. Well its my B day today & I am going to eat some carbs LOL Jan I am sorry they are asking for more photo albums but I think JB may have a point, they might want each child to have their own. Maybe they will bring them home with them. Hope your Sil can come back for a visit soon, once the kids are settled into their new home.

Previously 50 to 100 carbs now I try to limit it to under 50 per day.

It is frustrating. I understand bouncing up 2 or 3 lbs but 6 to 10 lbs? There never really is a rhyme or reason to it either. I just try to accept it and keep on keeping on.

      Happy birthday, Moonpie.

Amazed but down 5 lbs since Tuesday. Two since yesterday. Why I bounced up 6 and a half pounds last week, I do not know but I've done these upward bounces up to 10 lbs before and I just can't believe that is all water. I think it's insulin...hate to say that but it's a growth hormone so what are you gonna do? I dunno, as long as the overall picture is that, over time, the weight goes down, it's all good. Still have one and a half pounds to get back to my low point and start losing new weight. Have a good weekend everyone.

Javagurl, 5 lbs is not teensy! It's huge. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Happy belated birthday Moonpie. How was your birthday? I hope you had a wonderful day filled with lots of goodies.

Welcome Javagurl. Five pounds is a huge loss. Think about that heavy five pound bag of sugar that you've lugged into your house at one time or another. Remember how heavy that sucker was? Just think you've lost that! Every time I lose five pounds I equate it to how darned heavy those bags of sugar are. Just something to keep in mind on those trials and tribulations to lose weight.
