28 week appointment

Had my OB appt. yesterday. All is well, but no new u/s pics because baby is head down, facing my back, and had his legs crossed. He's in the perfect position for birthing...no one's told him that he's got 12 weeks to go I guess! Heart rate was 165, I was probably a bit dehydrated but no biggie.

According to the u/s, he's now measuring about 5 days ahead of dates, but of course there's a +/- of 2 weeks at this stage. He looks good though. Weighing an estimated 2#11oz.

Wanna hear a funny? As the LPN was bringing me back to the exam room she said, "So you're doing the glucola test today, right?" I looked at her and snorted, "Um NO!" "Oh, are you refusing," she says (looking incredulous)... "Um, read my chart, what does it say?" ...blank stare... "Okay, how about this, read my MedicAlert bracelet?" "Oh, you're already diabetic!" Wow, she was a genius I tell ya!

Later my OB tells me that it's the LPN's first day, so I forgive her.

The appointment was rather dull, nothing exciting going on this week. I did get the preregistration papers for the hospital. This is, of course, not needed if I go into labor on my own before 40 weeks...otherwise OB is inducing due to my T1 status. Also, that's the only way I'll be assured of getting the waterbirthing tub at the hospital. I also have all of my appointments set up for the next 10 weeks. Oy! The next month they are bi-weekly, then then next ones are weekly. I didn't realize I was at the bi-weekly stage yet!

Oh and I lost a pound since my last checkup. I think it's because I'm still not really over the flu. I can only eat little bits at a time lately, and still feel nauseas most of the time.

You are ONE amazing and brave lady! I have my hands full with zero kiddos!!

You really should have taken the test to make sure you don't have gestational diabetes!!! That was funny . . . geez!

Great to hear things are progressing well. I can't believe you have diabetes, you should have told us!

And here I thought you were just hanging around us because you liked us. Now I find out that you are one of us. Serious shock to my system. I'm not sure if I will ever recover.

Seriously, I'm glad that the pregnancy is progressing well and that the baby is right on schedule. Have Troy run you a warm bath and go to Starbucks for you.

Hi! Congratulations, and I am really happy that things are going well for you!!

By the way, the nurses tried to push the glucose test on me too!!! I also laughed, looked at them crooked, and said, "seriously?" They apologized, but I still laugh about it.

Thanks for the info on breastfeeding, we are really going to try our best to make it work. My endocrinologist seemed to think it shouldn't be a problem, and I have an appointment with a lactation consultant next month (hopefully the little peanut doesn't decide to come early!). One of my co-workers even gave me a really nice pump she said I could use for when I return to work...I just need to get new tubing and shields!!!

Have a great day!

So what you there is a impatient guy or girl. They just cannot wait to see you. Well pray for everything to go great. You are one brave lady. I had great problems in adjusting with Diabetes. You seem to have taken it in your stride..
Wish you would post your impatient baby here for us to have a chance to see
