Good morning all! Where are Cora and Diane?
Still on a high about the creatinine; course I had to go and read a bunch of stuff online, but figured out that because of my age and weight 1.3 is acceptable. It's going down. I guess the no salt is helping. I still need to be very careful. Kinda like it took me falling and ripping a toenail have off before I got rid of the sandals and went to covered toe shoes.
Almost ready to leave... talk later. Need to hear from all of you.
      Later.

Congrats on the 1.3. As (I think) I've said before, don't get too wrapped up in a drop, because it may go up again. It's never a steady decline when it goes down. It goes up and down. Only time will tell if you will remain stable. That said, you are still at a very good number and have little to worry about at this point. Keep up the good work of taking care of yourself. It will make a big different.

Yesterday I went for the additional testing that my kidney doctor had ordered when I saw him last month. The lab technician took 6 tubes of blood, And I also had to give a urine sample and when I peed into the cup, it looked like a pale ale with a head on top.

Foam in urine is not a good sign. It is an indication of excess of protein in the urine.

I'm not sure what to say,Diana, other than I hope the results of your testing come quickly and that it's better news than you're expecting.

True, but it can also be a sign of dehydration. I'm guessing you are drinking well, but if not, drink more water for a while and see if there are fewer bubbles. Sending you good wishes and peaceful thoughts. Many years ago - almost 20 - a doctor told me I'd be on dialysis in a couple years. He couldn't have been more wrong. I think he looked at the chart and saw I'd had diabetes for about 15 years, and had some protein in the urine and threw in a bit of scaring me. Turned out I was dehydrated. Today, many years later, my kidneys are in the normal range in all areas.

I haven't seen the doctor yet, but I have cut back on my own the amount of protein that I eat and I have been eating more salad. So I guess no news is good news, if he found something critical I think he would have contacted me.

      My reading have been great
8/19/2012 FBG 92, 2hrs After Breakfast 103 (an orange, an egg, a sausage and an English muffin), 2hrs After Dinner 103 (ribs and a salad)
8/20/2012 FBG 88, 2hrs After Breakfast 97 (an orange, Cheerios and peach with 1% milk), 2hrs After Lunch 127,2hrs After Dinner 113 (ribs and a salad)
8/21/2012 FBG 93, 2hrs After Lunch 101 (2oz.of pasta, peppers & onions and a sweet Italian sausage). Supper tonight will be a salad with some low salt ham,

But the bad news is that my feet burn at night because of neuropathy; however, if I walk 2 miles a day my feet are OK. So I have the diabetes under control, but I still have all the damage that it has done, neuropathy and CKD.

      How are you doing?

Yes, I am drinking a lot of water. But I also cut back on the amount of protein. I cut back on the portions of meat and eggs, I only have one egg in the morning and one sausage link and like tonight I'm having only 2 slices of low salt ham in my salad. As a result my urine is not as foamy.

Those are amazing numbers! Your food sounds soooo good, too. Did you read where a person on this forum is using heat on his feet to calm the neuropathy?
Thanks for the update. And I agree with you: no news is good news.

Yes, I have been following the thread. So far if I walk every day, it keeps my feet from burning up at night, but on rainy days or if it is too hot & humid then I have problems at night.

Do you think an accident where you (I) fell very hard on my legs (tripped over suitcase), leaving deep bruising, will cause neuropathy? Last night I could not even walk without screaming in pain, and the pain was such a hot BURNING in my left shin. My daughter put an ice pack on it for 3 hours and it was wonderful. I could then get up and walk to bed. What do you think it was? Today it only hurts if I press on it (up and down my shin) and the burning is gone. It was very scary.

      Hi TS!

Sorry to hear about your fall. It sure sounds like you injured your shin in the fall, especially since the pain got better the next day. If it comes back or lasts longer, go see your doctor. I find that any minor injury to my toes or fingers isn't really minor. Even a simple bumping of my foot on furniture turns into something major. How's your weight loss coming?

I went on vacation last weekend and didn't gain or lose an ounce and I'm pretty happy about that. Won't get on the scales till Monday. My shin from the knee down 3/4 of the way burns like crazy and an ice pack brings relief. I hope I didn't damage a nerve. It was better and then got worse with the fire-pain.
Thanks. I black and blued my little toe all the way around; keep finding bruises all over my body and some showing up late. Oh well...
