| | News, Study: Coffee Lowers The Risk Of Diabetes London, England (AHN) - A new study has revealed that drinking coffee can help lower the risk of type-2 diabetes.
The study, conducted by the National Public Health Institute of Finland found that people who drank more coffee than others had a lower risk of diabetes.
Over 25,000 participants in Finland were involved in the study.
According to the Daily Mail, those who were inactive and overweight but who drank seven or more cups a day were half as likely to develop the condition as those who drank the least number of cups.
Type-2 diabetes is a growing health problem that is linked to obesity, alcohol and lack of exercise. http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7003926002 |

| | Hmmm,
When I was working, I used to drink about one gallon of coffee a day, or more. I have a half gal. steel thermos that I would fill with extra strong coffee, and cut it 50-50 with water to drink . . .
Now I am a T2 with clean kidneys. |

| | | Actually there is some 'talk' about excessive alcohol use being a risk factor for diabetes. Apparently, according the the people who believe this, excessive alcohol use can damage the pancreas. Hense - damage to the beta cells. The Mayo Clinic has published information on this. I don't doubt that excessive alcohol use can damage a lot of things. |

But then again, it seems to provide some protection from diabetes in the long run. It is a paradox to say the least.
I drink mostly decaf these days, as regular coffee tends to mess with my bs leves to much. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
