injecting and scars

So after running 20+ mmol/l for pretty much most of the time for past week or so, docs have decided that after various oral med experiments that insulin is the answer. So i go to the nurse tomorrow morning to get started.

so my question is about injecting and scar tissue. How much of a margin around a scar do you need to leave?

I ask because I have scarring alot on the top of my left arm and my stomach, some on my legs and left arm too.

I know the nurse will cover it tomorrow, but just wondering if I could get a quick answer to put my mind at ease, as it's one of the things playing on it

this is just a total guess, but as long as there is fat under the scars, and the needle is able to get into the fat, it should be fine....I don't believe the condition of the skin matters unless it is simply more or less sensitive, then choose the less sensitive spot....

I have accidently injected where I have a scar(on my stomach), and this is the only time I have drawn blood. It also was black and blue for a few days.

Thanks guys, nurse helped me locate some good areas to inject avoiding scars. She said it was best to avoid scar tissue as it could affect absorbtion, and it could hurt.
