And yes, he says it can be done on MDI. There's at least one member here who stopped using a pump and went back to MDI with great success using Bernstein's methods.
Maybe my doc's A1c machine is broken, but my last 3 A1c's have been between 4.6 and 4.9 (Dx Feb/05 with A1c of 8.7). My ppg's generally average about 120-125 with the occasional 150-180.

I take no meds & eat what I want (of course what I want is signifcantly different today compared to a year and a half ago!).

I need a more specific answer to this question.

I am pre-diabetic and on metformin. With diet and exercise and medication, my fasting level is normal and my 2 hour test are normal. But I am still getting a 150-190 rise after 1 hour and it doesn't seem to matter how low glycemic I get with the diet. My doctor didn't seem concerned, but I am symptomatic at those levels, some fatigue and thirst after meals.

I am going to try going to 6 small meals a day to level things out. But I have to ask, what would be normal levels 1 hour after a meal?
