| | | Blood Results Got blood results today. My A1C was 5.6, chol 122, HDL 49, LDL 70. Kidney and liver all normal.
Great results, but I physically don't feel good. I'm exhausted, I've lost weight that I can't explain, double vision. I'm still working out, walking, riding. But it's getting harder and harder, there isn't much energy. See the Dr next week. Any ideas.

| | | Have you had your thyroid checked? Although, it sounds like you have symptoms of both hyper (weight loss) and hypo (fatigue) so that might not be it. Usually if you're undiagnosed hypothyroid, you can feel tired all the time, but have trouble losing weight. And a lot of diabetics have thyroid issues, so get that checked if you haven't already.

Be sure you discuss exactly what your exercise routines are (day by day) with your doctor, as well as what your diet has been. I know if I walk my 2 mile route every day, that first mile is M-U-R-D-E-R. Having a 48 hour recovery (skip a day) promotes muscle growth and increased energy. Otherwise you end up partly cannibalizing muscle (catabolism) instead of building more.
Exercise physiology and the chemistry of it can be very strange for us diabetics. Be sure you discuss all aspects of this with your doc. Good luck, and I hope you can feel perked up soon ! |

| | Hi Val: I know that you're happy with those test results but
I'm sorry that you're feeling tired. Seems a normal event
sometimes.
Way too many reasons for fatique as mentioned, Hypothyroidism,
Anemia, low blood sugars, etc., etc. Mine is mostly from Hypothyroid
and RA. (Oh and old age... ).
I hope that the Doc can find the cause and a fix for your exhaustion.
Congrats on your results.

| | | Great results Val.
I, like others have said, think you may be experiencing a problem with your thyroid levels. It seems that diabetes and thryroidism go hand in hand. Just for peace of mind, ask them to check your thyroid levels. It's a lot easier to deal with once you know what's going on. I seem to be suffering from hypothyroidism and anemia both so I think I stay tired. LOL.
Keep up the good work with the levels. You are doing great!!!

| | | I have the same problem Val, but was told it was from my anemia. My next question, how come so many of us have anemia?
