Can someone please decode this diagnosis for me and send me in the right direction to learn more about my diagnosis.

250.03 dm, uncontrolled, Type 1, Primary
250.61 diab renal manif juven
250.61 diab nuro manif juven

This is what I was just dxed with by my endo.

As far as the coding:

250.03--Diabetes Mellitus, without mention of complication,
Type 1(Insulin Dependant Type)(IDDM), (Juvenile Type),
uncontrolled

250.41--Diabetes with renal manifestations, Type 1(Juvenile Type),
not stated as uncontrolled.

250.61--Diabetes with Neurological Manifestations, Type 1(Juvenile Type,
not stated asuncontrolled.

As far as explaining, it's too involved in different sites, so just Google:

Diabetes with Neurological manifestations--(pick a site).

Diabetes with renal manifestations--(pick a site).

Your Doctor should have told you what these meant.
You have some damage(like most)involving the kidney and some
Neuropathy.

To what degree, your Doc knows. Could be minor.

Your Very Welcome, mids. Sorry, it wasn't better news. Just
have a chat with your Doc to discuss steps in possibly reversing
some of the damage. Your're still young so you should be able to
turn most of it around. As mentioned, many people are on blood
pressure meds. to help prevent kidney damage. I guess that could
help you also even now, if you are not on any already. Good Luck.
