| | | Diabetes and Waxing?? Okies, I always shave, but want to start waxing my legs instead, but I have heard some horror stories about waxing and diabetes, ending in huge skin infections and stuff.
I have great circulation, so I was wondering if this is somethin I should be worried about or not?!

| | | I don't know about other folks, but I have never gotten an infection.
Unless you got careless and cut your hand on the chrome or some of the sheet metal, I'm not sure how just waxing a car could give you an infection? I have never taken my car into someone else to get waxed, I always do it myself. Why would you "shave" a car anyway?

| | Waxing is easy to have done....the only difference, of course, is price & a little extra pain, lol.
While waxing is helpful to get the hair to come back less thick & less often (cause it pulls the hairs out by the roots), it does in fact cost a little more. Other than that, there should be no worries about doing it, unless you have super-sensitive skin. I say to waxing.

:smartass: | Waxing! Why would anyone want to wax anything? All that does is make it shine and stand out. The only time you need that is in garrison and right now people we are at war. Keep those cars covered in mud. They are easier to hide that way. Do you hear me? No wax.

I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"

| | I think they probably warn you about doing it was a diabetic for the same reason as all the foot spa health warnings and some other medications as a diabetic (wart removers )
If you dont have any nerve damage etc then it should be fine.
I used my wart removed and im not dead yet... mind you, neither is the stupid wart!!

:smartass: | Here's an example of a shaved car: http://www.autobytel.com/images/Conc...exrrdrvr34.jpg
Note the door handles are removed (shaved), no attenae (shaved), no emblems (shaved). It's a popular trend in cars. I can't believe a man with his finger on the pulse of manliness wonders why one would shave their car? |

| | | ... A few places will actually refuse to wax you if you happen to mention you have diabetes before the actual waxing. Thought I'd let you know. |

| | | I can't believe how many people have kept this thread going (including me), lol. Just try it and see 2high, if you get an infection, get some antibiotics. You've put more effort into worrying about infection than you have about the excrutiating pain it is going to cause you. Now that's crazy (oops sorry wrong thread) |

| | | Well I used to wax pre-diabetes and was ok... then coz I was warned not to I didn't for ages after. Tried it once (at home so prob not the best) and my skin went all red and sore and took a good while to feel better.... so I haven't treid since.
Are you gonna get it done proffesionally or at home? Can you let me know how you get on?
