case manager vs diabetes nurse.

Is there a difference between a case manager and a diabetes nurse? I was told there was....
Paul was diagnosed in this past Aug...is it to soon for the diabetes nurse to stop weekly contact with him?

Is the case manager through the doctor's office or the insurance company?

I got a case management "team" from my insurance company a few months ago......it's a big pain, and very little help!

Thanks all for responses. Yeah Im not sure about the difference either.
When he was first diagnosed he got a little team, his dr, diabetes nurse and a nutritionist...I then got the suggestions to look for a case manager which was better....Just curious. I guess theres no difference which is a good thing. Once again. Thanks.

UHC tried to assign a "diabetes team" to me. Problem was that they cared more about the insurance company than they did me. When I found out they really weren't working "for me", i politely told them I didn't need thier assistance. I don't need an insurance company dictating my treatment, I just need them to pay the claims...
