diabetes research at my university

I was just going to look at my university email tonight and on the university headlines they had this article about detecting glucose levels in cells.- University of Arkansas - Daily Headlines . I really don't understand much of it and know it is not some sort of breakthrough. But it was just kinda cool knowing diabetes research is going on in a lab down the hall from many of my classrooms.

A close friend is in research at one of our two medical schools here. Both med schools do endocrinology research. In her lab, they have multiple projects regarding diabetes. Her work is biochemical, but others are doing more directly clinical experiments. Of course the clinical has underpinnings in the biochemical. I just looked at the endocrinology department's website and they are currently recruiting for volunteers for 14 different diabetes realted studies.

It might interest others to look at websites of nearby universities to see what diabetes research is being done there.
