The uncle again.... maybe not for too long ;(

I know I have shared some stories abou tmy uncle that is a T2 and all his troubles. He has had a few toes cut off and he has always been in denial. He had a stroke and ended up in the hospital. 2 weeks ago. He was recovering abit and was ready to be sent to rehab. He was sent back and is now on life support. To all my fellow diabetics T1 and T2s... PLEASE take care of yourselves as much as you can.

Sorry to hear that Cinnabon. I hope it turns out better for him. If you need anything, you know how to get ahold of me.

thank U fam. This man has NEVER taken care of himself. He has cirrhosis, as well. He took his pills when he decided to and then put on insulin and nothing. Years of denial.

Mars, I sure wish you didn't have to deal with this. I very happy that you haven't followed your uncles example.

I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. He sounds a lot like my dad's side of the family. All T2s and don't do a darn thing except sit on NPH and then wonder why, when they are getting limbs amputated, the insulin isn't working... Grrr.

Prayers and hugs to you and yours!

It saddens me that your uncle didn't take care of himself and is paying the consequences for it. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Hi Cin...I am so sorry about your Uncle. I also had an Uncle that went down the same path as yours. He never did accept his diabetes and he drank. He did however make me (and others) accutely aware that we needed to take care of our diabetes. Thank you for sharing your story.

My thoughts and prayers are with your Uncle.

Thank U all!!
Today he is still "stable". They are attempting to get him off the ventilator (sp)
It really is sad. When the family would encourage him to take care of his Diabetes, he would shrug us off. Amazing how his BS was ALWAYS at 140, according to him. We never believed this.

Well his kidneys failed. He was already put thru dialysis. He is uncontience. This just went from bad to worst. Its like all the complications fell one right after another in a matter of a month.

I can not stress how much I beg you all to please take care of their Diabetes. He has had T2 for less than 13 yrs.

I'm so sorry Cinn... It's never easy to see someone you care about go through something like this. It certainly does give us all a wake up call on what this disease can do.

We'll be thinking of you and your Uncle and hoping for the best.
