| | | Surgery tomorrow... Hi again...
Eri's surgery is tomorrow(I call it a procedure, but the docs say surgery b/c she will be under general anesthesia for up to an hour)...three different scopes and biopsies. They told me on Friday to expect her to probably stay overnight because they don't think she'll be able to swallow the first day/night...so IV dextrose. I don't know, does it seem like Tuesday nights are hospital nights for her(and me) the past 3 weeks?
Anyhow, doubt I'll be on tomorrow, if I am, hopefully early evening. Her dad won't stay there and God only knows if he'll go w/ us for this.
I am still more angry and frustrated than you know w/ what went on in there last Wednesday. I want to scream and take my kids and just get out of this stupid state. She was never THIS sick in FL...
Oh well, w/ her new regimine she is doing better, she freaks when she sees her bgl's in the 70's and 80's, afraid of hypoglycemia, me, I just smile b/c she's "normal"...she even called me at work the other night w/ the "Ohmygosh mom, what do I do? I'm at 124?!?!?!? I was like, ummm, pat yourself on the back?...She called me every hour to update me on her bgl's since I worked 12 hours that day. She was beyond ticked this morning when she was 240...we bolused in for what little she ate last night, she had her 24u of lantus and she was livid. Ah well. I think she is a bit high strung w/ having to go to the hospital AGAIN tomorrow. She's putting on the tough act but I know she hates it there, she always stresses.
OK, I'm really shutting up w/ this. I know I'm going to hate the waiting game to see what the biopsies say, but it's life. Just praying all goes well.
Thanks for listening!

| | | Thanks...
Eri is being, hmmm, unberable right now. She told me she does NOT want me w/ her tomorrow that her dad will take her and to leave her alone.
Her bgl's have been so out of tune today...she's so nervous, barely eating, etc...she's scared the most of the IV's of all things. Go figure(I think it's b/c 2 visits ago they put one in her wrist and she's still sore).
Feeling like a total failure, but hey, it's her choice on who takes her, why should I stress her more by being there and visible?
I'm praying she changes her mind b/c he's been pretty out of it w/ having double pneumonia and on all those steroids and heavy antibiotics AND dealing w/ the COPD, I've got all Eri's regimine set in my head...he doesn't. At least I have it all written out in her bag that she has all her supplies in and carries.
I'll update when I get a chance...
Thanks again...

| | | Everything will be okay, and hopefully they'll finally be able to take care of these problems she's been having. She's certainly had a hard time of it so far. I'm hoping for the best for all of you.

| | Thanks so much everyone
We were able to come home today b/c the little bugger actually got the food down and kept it down so she could get out of there...lol.
(she said the turkey tasted like cat food, funny thing, I don't remember ever serving her cat food )
The surgery took about 40 minutes. Then her ENT came out and showed us all the pics of her throat and everything. Well, her throat is VERY swollen, about 50%+ more than it should be, and she has nodes/nodules all down her throat, esophogus and trachea...they only took a few biopsies for now...she said the acid reflux was quite bad, so she doubled her prevacid dosage.
We'll get the biopsy results on the 27th...then we weill also find out when she has to have that tube up her nose and down her throat, hanging by her epiglotis for a full 24 hours...to test the level of the acid...that tube is hooked up to a monitor that she will wear. She was not happy hearing about that...especially that she will miss another day of school(she's not going tomorrow, she doesn't want to wake up...I make her, but she falls back to sleep and her bgl's have been in the 200's...and she woke up w/ a reading of 129. She went up to 210 w/ the surgery. I got her down to 108 after she ate lunch.
So, that's where we are at. She's tired and sore. She didn't like the laughing gas(they gave her that b/f they hooked up her IV b/c she was dehydrated this morning and they couldn't get a good vein w/o hurting her)...and she said she remembers she had the oddest laugh, literally a belly laugh...lol. She remembers laughing at the doc, etc...
The nice endo came up to see her...we like him...he's awesome
OK, I actually fell asleep for a couple hours and didn't know if it was 6 in the morning or night...lol...I so don't like that feeling!
Her dad did go w/ us...granted, he slept most of the time but he never did his neb treatment and he looked like, hmmm, some creature from "Night of the Living Dead" I suppose...and he thought double pneumonia was something you got over quickly. HA! (w/COPD as well). Dork.
I'm really shutting up b/c I have to make Eri drink something and give her some of that pudding.
Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes!
Will update when we get the biopsy results...
