My insurance is non-existent, and my financial situation pretty poor, so I'm hoping that maybe someone here can tell me wether or not this is something I should make the expense to check out.
So for many years now, (since I was 9 or 10, possibly earlier) I have had insomnia. I saw a sleep specialist four years ago, but nothing has worked to treat it. Not drugs, not CPAP, not behavior modifications, etc.
Read up on diabetes and am seeing SOME similarities, and some contraindications, what do you think?
I have difficulty gaining weight (fat and muscle), even though I eat quite a bit and work out. If I eat a lot and work out often, I can gain weight easily to a point... and then it takes a gargantuan effort to get to the next level. For the amount of effort I put in, I don't compare to my peers who work out the same but eat far less.
I am always fatigued... I have trouble sleeping and I don't seem to gain any energy from eating.
My fasting blood sugar level from a test 3 years ago was 96.
I don't exercise much due to fatigue. When I do, it is weight lifting. But running and endurance exercises I can't maintain long.
When I was younger, I used to wake up in the middle of the night nauseas and throwing up for no reason at all. I'd be sick for the rest of the day... but I had no flu or cold-like symptoms... just nausea. This would happen once every few months, but stopped sometime during high school and has never happened again.
I wake up to use the restroom at night, up to 3 times a night.
Sometimes I feel pain in my chest, and sometimes from my heart... like little needles. Sometimes in my feet and lower legs.
I have frequent headaches, often after waking up.
My sleep is uninteruppted but unrefreshing. If I'm tired I'll fall asleep, but wake up feeling worse... at least for the first hour.
That's all I can think up at the moment. Will repost or clarify if need be.
Thanks for any comments
