| | | Um, I think it's obvious that there is a problem. If you are going to the bathroom that often, it seems that it needs to be investigated.
If you are running 200 throughout the night, I would also agree that that's contributing to the problem. Why are your numbers that high? Are you testing before bed? I would advise you to do so, if you aren't... Once you bring those overnight sugars down, I think that will help.
Also, when was the last time you saw your endocrinologist? It may be wise to set up an appointment... I would see if he/she could help adjust your insulin/meds/etc., so that you have more acceptable readings at night. Plus, you might want to run this problem by your doctor as well.
take care.

| | Hi, I'm 46 years old and I hate to say it but I go to doctor once a week. This has been going on for 6 months now. My blood sugar this morning was 189 before eating breakfast.
Thanks, Rob |

| | | I was hitting the bathroom 4-5 times a night pre-diagnosis. I though it was a side effect of my BP meds. My fasting was >300 when diagnosed.
Now, I sleep through the night. |

| | | none of the above seems to affect me, low or high, tired or wide awake... i pee all night long... it sucks and it started after i got diabetes - however i did have serious bed wetting problems (from high bgs pre diagnosis) so i think it's part of diabetes and part paranoia...

| | | If I drink a lot of liquids during the day, I might get up and go during the night. Usually I don't. I only get 4-5 hours of sleep a night at most so there's not much need to wake up to use the bathroom.

| | | Rob,
Get a PSA test.
See if you have a prostate problem.
People over 40 should start testing for prostate problems. |

| | For me, it normally ranges from " 0, 1 or 2" times.
depends how much tea and water I drank before
I go to bed.
I do remember going(felt like 100 times at night with
an urgency)last Fall.
Started out as a simple urinary infection in Oct., I
took the anti-biotics. November came, again running
to the can too much. Seems like the infection wasn't
totally gone and came back with a fury. (I was never
an antibiotic overdoser through the yrs.).
Terrible chills, throwing up. Was okay during the day. The
next morning at 2 a.m., chills and throwing up again.
Temperature of 105.2. Took some Tylenol and passed out
in our entrance. Ambulance ride. Was in ICU all day
between tons of tests and questions.. Given more anti-biotics
and went home.
The next morning, the Dr. from ER phoned me up and wanted
me back in the ER. The extended testing had showed the bacteria
had gotten into my bloodstream somehow.
.
Back in ER, 2 new types of anti-biotics by fast drip plus the
normal other drips. Stayed most of the day again 'til the Drs.
felt better. Sent home again with another type of anti-biotic for
14 days. I was a sick puppy but back to normal since Dec.
I think I mentioned this episode before.
Since you're at the Drs. every week, I know you've
had tests done for urinary infections. Right?
Moral of story: An ailment that could easily be remedied in a
non-diabetic can be deadly for a Diabetic, if it's not looked after
fast. I hope that you find the problem and feel better soon.

| | | Most nights - never
Occasionally I'll need to get up once or twice. I will almost always need to go if I've been drinking, or if I have high BG.
Thankfully these days I don't often get high BGs, especially not overnight (I check and correct so often that highs are uncommon!). Don't drink much either actually...
You definitely need to do something about those numbers... 200 is bad for the bod and certainly going to send you to the bathroom a lot!
