| | How many times do you go to the bathroom at night? Hi, I must go at least 10 times a night. I don't no if it's caused from having diabetes or what? Ten times a night is when I don't take my water pill a day and when I do take the pill I go even more times.
Thanks, Rob |

| | | Rob, that 200 is why you are constantly going. I find I have to go if I run that high. You need to try to bring that down.
For me it depends on what I drank the night before. If I drank say a 44 oz Diet Coke from Speedway then I may wake up once or twice during the night. If I drank just a glass of water then I can usually sleep through the night assuming I don't run high.

| | | As long as my blood sugar is in target range, I never wake up to go to the bathroom during the middle of the night.

| | | I rarely get up at all to go to the bathroom at night...unless i've had tea with dinner, then i'm up about 3-4 hrs after going to bed.
Rob: Have you had a thorough physical lately? I work in a urologist's office and often times an enlarged prostate can make men get up many times at night, esp. in those ages 55 and up (not sure of your age). There are meds to help significantly shrink the prostate.
That being said however, before my diabetes was diagnosed (my fasting at diagnosis was 215) I was getting up 3-4 times throughout the night. |

| | | Once on average. Sometimes none, sometimes lots. It depends on my bloodsugar and how soundly I'm sleeping and how much liquid I drank the evening prior.

| | | Maybe once.
I go to bed anywhere from 12am-2am.
I pee right before bed but if I wake in the middle of the night I have to get up and go pee regardless if I have to go or not.

| | | We had family over during Christmas time and I was REALLY surprised to see some people get up 2 or 3 times a night to go to the bathroom. They don't have diabetes. They don't have any health problems. Two are younger than me! We talked about it one morning as it was so funny, there was a line up at the bathroom's door!!
I go before bed and that's it. Only when my sugars were really out of whack did I get up 2-3 times at night. Haven't done that in years. I'm always a bit worried I'll dehydrate because I drink so much coffee so I drink plenty of water, even before bed. I must have a really good bladder. Makes up for the crappy pancreas I have. |

| | | I am also a never. Once I go to bed about eleven, I am good till eight in the morning. I would HATE getting up at night.
I think lowering your blood sugar will help your night walk problem Rob. You may still get up, but hopefully a lot less. |

| | | When you go to the nephrologist one of the first questions they will ask you is "do you wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom?". I used to wake up 3-5 times a night because my sugar was out of control at that time. Now if I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night the first thing I do (after going lol) is testing and 9 times out 10 injecting.
Now days I [usually] don't go during the night and my last hour in bed I am usually holding it in cause I just want to sleep before I have to go to work. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
