| | Devastated... I have started working out on the treadmill. I am also watching what I eat and am determined to lose weight.
Tonight, about 20 minutes into my 30 minute work out, the big toe on my right foot started going numb. The numbness eventually worked its way all the way to my ankle. I know what this means and I'm so sad. I'm too young for this.
Anyhow, I'm just bummed.

| | | Don't panic yet. I have a couple friends who are occupational and sports rehab therapists, and numbness in all extremities is fairly common. Get it checked out for sure, but don't freak yet (if ever).

| | Nada, definitely don't freak out. It could just be that while you were walking, you could have pinched a nerve in your toe. I've done that before and the numbness has gone all the way to my knee. I had to take some anti-inflammatories, but eventually it went away.
Go to your GP and find out what his opinion is before you get yourself all worked up! |

| | | I went snowboarding recently (I usually ski) and my feet tingled like crazy that day, and they ached and felt numb. It freaked me out at first, but then totally went away. I was just using different muscles. |

| | I would be amazed if this were neuropathy as it normally doesn't happen this sudden. I'm with the others, it's probably a pinched nerve which any specialist doctor, osteopath or chiropractor could soon sort out.
The first thing I would try is to undo the pinch - try slowly rising onto the tips of your toes a couple of times keeping your legs together and also straight - its a medium length shot; but it might work, saving you some medical costs.
Good luck and try not to panic.

| | Nada...I know what you feel. Two weeks ago I was sitting working at the computer here at work and BAM! My left arm was tingling, especially in my fingers. I freaked out thinking, well there it is, neuropathy in my hands already...but now it's all gone. Theory is that I pinched my Ulnar nerve. Avoiding pressure on my elbow helped.
This is probably the exact same thing that has happened to your foot (well, not with your Ulnar nerve of course) while running. Chin up O.K.?

| | | sorry you are feeling down about this... I would suggest finding a different type of exercise that doesn't put stress or pressure on you joints... Swimming, or some other type of non-impact exercise might be better suited for you. You may even want to look into finding a personal trainer. He or she could probably assist you with exercises that will work for you.
hang in there.

| | | Any time I start to get back into shape, I feel sore and pain in different areas. I think you'll be okay and I think this is a normal reaction especially since your doing alot of cardio. |

| | | listen to the others, sounds as if they are right on. Do ask your doctor, maybe try the treadmill again and if it happens again, I'd say the treadmill. what type of shoes are you using when on the treadmill? I have neuropathy in my feet and it usually acts up during the evenings, into the night. I have no affects from it when I use the tread mill. |

| | | Hi Nada,
I was working out about a month ago and then had all this tingling in my toes and went up into my calves. It went away, I think I pinched something, cause I assume if it is neurathopy then, it would keep coming instead of just a workout. I feel nothing at all now......just go get checked to make sure, but I know I was a nervous wreck at first too.
