*Doing The Happy Dance*

Went to the Endo today for my 3 month check up and got the results of my lab tests from last week.

My new A1c as of May 31, 2007 .......... 6.0! YaY

Again, I"ll say: Insulin is TEH CHIT man! *giggles*

Doc said, “Everything looks GREAT!! I’m very pleased and not going to change anything, we’ll just keep it as is, come back in 3 months!”
I asked him did I get another “Gold Star”? He said, “Yes, you get another Gold Star!” .... YaY

It probably would have been just a little bit lower, but the past few weeks, I've had a few higher numbers .... OF COURSE!! UGH!
Oh well tho, I'm SUPER thrilled with the 6.0!

May I ask if you have been offered to try lantus/levimir? It's a lot better then the mixtards.

Congrats on the switch. I am glad it is going well for you!

Thanks Brian.

Yes, I have. The reason I'm on the Novolin, is for financial reasons. No insurance, and I can't afford the other insulins. $19.96 per vial of Novolin 70/30 and Novolin R, as opposed to about $80 per vial of Lantus or over $85 for Levimir. And then the Humalog, that's over $85 too! If I had insurance, it would be a whole different story! Well, as long as the co-pays weren't more than what I'm paying out now! LOL

Fortunately, so far I've not had any problems with the mix. In fact, I've done quite well with it. Other than having some late morning/early afternoon lows if I forget to eat. It's not too often, but still has me consiering MDI with just the Novolin N at the AM and PM and then the R with meals. I haven't decided on that just yet, but am seriously considering it. already discussed with the doc, and it's up to me
