| | | high/low ? I tested about 2 today, and was either 32 or 46 (different hands, minutes apart). Had been 75 to 91 all day, even 2 hours after a meal. I had diarrhea all day, usually when I am sick I run high. When I was so low, I felt like I was going to throw up and my stomach hurt, I had a headache and could barely raise my head from the table, eating fixed most of that. I still feel drained, too. I had some glucose tablets, was still low (55), so had a donut . Then I ate supper, 1/2 ear corn, a small potato, greens, 2 hours later was 95. Just tested 5 minutes ago, nothing else to eat, was 197! What happened and should I take some more Novolog....have not had any since well before the low?

| | Hello Penny, I have had those days too and there is no explanation of what causes the persistent lows like i would go and have a good meal with enough carbs and i generally have a test about 1/2 to an hour and find i should have high BG but then i don't and so knowingly that the short acting is still working!! so more carbs. I'm already full from the initial dinner so a pav should fix it and it did and end up high so what gives. (I enjoyed the Pavlova anyway) So there is a real need for testing!!! Absolutely!! |

| | Feeling much better this morning, and determined to get under control today! I have had super contol for about 3 weeks, and was probably just showing too much pride (you know all that stuff about pride before a fall). What is a pavlova....sounds like something we shouldn't have.
