| | Please Take Care Of Your Diabetes Guys and gals, I know that so many others have posted threads like this so please bear with me.
The father of a good friend of mine died this week. He was a T2 and within the last year (I believe) lost his sight. He never took his diabetes seriously. Please, please, please I beg of all of you to please take care of yourselves and your diabetes.
I can't say that his diabetes is the cause of his death but I know it played a major part in it.
Please do all you can to extend your lives !!!
I love and care a great deal for all of you here. You guys and gals are my family !!!!!!

| | | I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend's father.
In my humble opinion, it is post's like these that give some of us the nudge we all need occasionally.
My mother was T2 and died because she took no notice of it. So when I was dxd I jumped right in with both feet.
It is never nice to hear of someone elses misfortunes but it does make us face the reality of this disease.
I hope your friend has all the support they need at this difficult time.

| | Hello Cindy, Yes these things let us remember of what we have to do to curb the complications from happening and it is centered around having the Blood Glucose at a low level and keep it there and that is our battle.
Also, exercise is what we don't have enough of, So get walking!! |

| | | Cindy,
I'm sorry to hear the loss.
I've been recently diagnosed, and am taking this and will continue to take this very seriously. I made some radical changes in my life, and actually feel much better doing so.
Sorry again, for the loss.

| | | Cin, it is so nice that you care enough to remind us. I sometimes think that this forum is all many people have, as their families do not understand or care.

| | | Thanks everyone. I will pass on your condolences to my friend and her family.
His attitude wasn't one of denial. I think it was just that he didn't want to change anything. He knew he was diabetic and he admitted it. He just wouldn't/couldn't change his ways.
I'm sorry if this post upset anyone. I just don't want to lose any of you. I don't want diabetes to win. I want you guys, my friends, to win !!!!!!!!!!
