| | | Disposal of used glucose strips I'm curious to know what you do with used glucose strips. I used to just toss them in the garbage but they started showing up everywhere. Recently, I've started saving the vial of the strips I've just emptied and use it to store the used strips of the vial I'm currently using (if that makes any sense, forgive me). Once it's full, I just dump them in the trash and start putting more strips in it. I'm still finding a lot of used strips around. I wonder why?????

| | | Like you find them around the house or yard after garbage day?
You could try disposing of them in a ziplock sandwich baggie or something similar.

| | | Yep, that's it. I was just joking before, I've just started putting the used ones into an empty vial and throw it away when it's full.

| | ... Good question! I used to chuck them in the bin, just like that. I don't anymore. Ever since one garbage bag split open and strips were all over.
I'll use whatever is handy. A little Ziploc... or a small jar... sometimes an empty bottle of water. Anything that will prevent the used strips to end up all over the place. I do the same with the lancets.

| | You could stick them in the sharps container if you have one. I just use an old downy bottle as my sharps container. It smells nice everytime you open it .

| | LOL lg! I have found a few around the house. Once I felt something on the bottom of my foot and found one and was like "What the?!?! I think sometimes they stick to my fingers when I go to put them in the trash and then they just end up on the floor and I don't realize it. |

| | | lol I was looking out my passenger window and I said what’s that paper stuck in the window channel? It ended up being a used strip. That’s terrible. I AGREE WITH lgvincent it seems that they are everywhere. |

| | | lol! I find them all over the place! In the car, the house...etc! My husband's ongoing joke when he finds a strip is "Dewey has been here." hehehe
Thanks for the good ideas on how to dispose of them! Maybe I won't leave a trail of strips anymore...lol |

| | | I use an old bubble bath bottle (with a biohazard sticker slapped on) and usually dispose of the strips and the lancets in that, but the vial idea somehow seems much better. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
