A simple truth

Some posts I read recently reminded me how often we forget to be kind not only to each other but to ourselves too.

Next time your reading is high, please remember that it is not something that defines you, it is not a reflection of your character, and it is ultimately NOT really your fault because:

A) You did not take enough insulin
B) You ate too much
C) You did not exercise enough
D) You might be ill
E) You are under stress...

The level of glucose in your blood is high for one reason only:

BECAUSE YOU HAVE DIABETES

Good point. It is often said that humakind's biggest probleem is that we think too much. Thinking can be very useful. But identifying closely with past experiences and thoughts, causes a lot of suffering too!

I have had this disease for too long to say that i have diabetes and i would know no different from the condition that i have so everyday its a normal day and looking at your BG would make you think that you have to make a decision of what to do. So buy having to manage Insulin, Diet and exercise is to me a Daly requirement.

Just recently i'm learning to understand on how food groups have a quality that has a bearing of what it dose for you and a bit of everything is fine but for us we have to look at ourselves and why that we are what we are. I'm sorry everyone it's just to understand that there is discipline to say no to things that you like. So you think why is because i'm fat and i have to think of ways to get rid of it.

Thank you so much. I am in the middle of tests for new complications (most likely PAD and possibly asymptomatic CVD), and it's hard to understand why, if my LDL is so low, and if my HDL is so high, and if I don't smoke, and if I don't drink, and, and, and... why do I have this? One word... diabetes.

I needed to hear this, this morning.

I will admit some of my newfound philosophy has been initiated by your irritatingly cheerful optimism, although I still have a long way to go, Obi-Wan...

Thanks so much for this wonderful reminder!!! I have gained so much from all of you and this adds an additional peace of mind for me. I have been blaming myself for diabetes and actually feel most of my family believe I caused this myself as well. Add to that the doctors in this world and it's a heavy load sometime! Thanks!!!
