Angry Doctor rant

We should have a sticky for doctors rants.

I've always been pretty happy with my doctors, but I knew it was only a matter of time.

I saw my endo in June, my third time in a year. My prescriptions had run out at the same time, so I asked him for new ones. He upped my ACE at the same time.

Now in the past all my scripts have been for a year, always. You'd think if they were for only three months someone would tell me. Right. So I order my last refills and my pharmacists tells me there are no more. Huh? Ya, he only gave me three months worth and never told me. No one told me. I phone his office to see if he can send in new scripts and to find out when he wants to see me again, he usually calls, and after a week or more of telephone tag, I find out he sent notes to my GP to refill them.

So I phone my GP. "He can't see you untill February, but the nurse practitioner can on Nov 8th" Oh, when I did this it was just for my ACE. I just found out about the insulin today. Pharmacy gave me one bottle to hold me over. I have enough for maybe two weeks. Now I have to spend most of Monday trying to get an insulin script. They'll probably want to charge me $25 for phoning it in. I'll tell them to charge my ****ing endo.

Breaking in a new nurse practioner should be fun. I'm actually looking forward to that.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this level of nonsense. It absolutely makes me crazy to spend that much time, energy and explanation to different people just to get 1 thing accomplished. Ugh. Good luck Monday.

xMenace - I'm sorry that you had to deal with this hassle.

I always make copies of the Rx before I send them in. Sometimes my doc does dumb things like that and at least I can refer to the script.
