| | uuuuggggghhhhhh, I'm siiiiiiick There's a lot of bad sh!t going around in my city right now, at least two other people in the pit orchestra I'm playing with are sick and now I'm getting it too. BOO!!! It started last night, one minute I was fine the next my throat was bugging me and I could hardly sleep last night cuz it hurt like a SOB. My throat is raw and it hurts like **** to cough and my right eye is bugging me too. And not much appetite.
Tomorrow we have two performances of Wizard of Oz for area school kids, then it's off to the Van Halen concert. And somewhere in there I'm supposed to work.
I used to be able to go 2-3 years without getting sick. Now....last year I had two colds within three months, boy did that suck hard. I don't even know. And on top of all that my period is supposed to come by this weekend. I have performances of Wizard of Oz through Sunday.
What a crappy time to get sick; I feel like I'm dying over here. Somebody shoot me. x_x |

| | Aww, That's no good!! But then for a performace in a orchestra needs to have healthy players and it do make a difference to play in tune.
Do you have to go? Like, Come'on, Your health is important and I know that there is nothing worse than playing out of tune.
In the mean time, Get well. |

| | Nope, I decided to stay home from the show today since I knew they wouldn't have a problem with it. Work on the other hand might be a bit more tricky...I work at home right now but still have to go in to pick stuff up. |

| | I'm on my second cold this month too. My throat is fine, but I have an awful taste in my mouth and I feel like ****! My BGs are running low too On top of this, apparently this year's flu vaccine has really missed the mark
I find the tylenol cold & flu daytime capsules good at getting me through those sick days when you have stuff to do. |

| | | Can't remember the last flu I had. I've had three colds, maybe, in the last seven years. My immune system has done very well by me over the years and for that I'm extremely grateful.
The idea that Diabetes may erode my immune system strikes me as very uncool. I like being healthy and while I appreciate all the past years of excellent health, I'll take as many more as I can get.
Is the recommendation here to just keep the numbers as low as possible? Eat more fresh fruits and veggies and get lots of exercise and sleep? Reduce and manage stress? Is that all I can do?

| | It's weird, everyone says their blood sugars go way up when they're sick but mine have been pretty normal so I didn't think I was getting sick right away. :/
Hooray for NyQuil and DayQuil! |

| | | Hope you feel better...here's a funny story about an orchestra pit...
Last Sat. I visited Chicago and went to see "Jersey Boys"...my friend and I had walked down to see the floor and expanse of the LaSalle Theater (historic)...we were in front of the orchestra pit debating whether all the music was played on stage (keyboard, drums...etc. for Frankie Valli) and if there was anyone in the pit. I said, no, if there was a pit, they'd be exposed...so we were talking into the black screen (scrim?) and asking "Is anyone in there?"...we heard laughter and a lot of "Yes...Let us Out!'s"...we ran off screaming!
Jersey Boys is great! (Slow start...but hang in there!) |

As for a cold though, I did not get one ( touches wood ) but if I do I get lows and I feel wasted and there is no energy in me. |

I love that. We always get little kids coming over to the edge of the pit and looking down at us, asking how we get in there, etc. Some of us will talk to them and sometimes they are too shy to say anything or just scuttle off. Hehehe. Quote:

Man, the Van Halen show last night was amazing though. I'm glad I went. Only my voice was shot so I wasn't able to cheer or holler at all. Worst time to get sick in the history of the universe!! |

| | OK that was scary--I got home from the musical today and sat down to write my blog entry on Van Halen; my left hand was shaking against the keyboard but I didn't feel low. So I finished my post and felt better and then checked and it was 50!
I haven't been that low in weeks; does being sick affect your hypo awareness as well? |

| | | Sound pressure I often thought of the level of volume in a pit like the kettle drums will wake you up and like you say that to be herd you would be out of that pit.
You have a broad range in your taste in music like myself. |
