GW Pharmaceuticals reports encouraging results in Phase I diabetes trial

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - GW Pharmaceuticals PLC said that one of its cannabis-based compounds has shown encouraging results in a Phase I diabetes trial.

The company has started the preparations for a Phase II trial this year.

GW said the compound could be useful in treating other metabolism-related diseases.

In a separate statement this morning, GW reported narrower FY losses and said 2008 promises to be 'an eventful year'.

Not gonna work. I smoked tons of the stuff and still got diabetes.
