| Nerve damage is common among diabetics, especially long term diabetics. I have been diabetic for 62 years. I have nerve damage in many parts of my body. Where there is nerve damage there is a weakening of the muscles associated with those nerves. My arms are much weaker than they used to be. That started when I was in my 40's. I even have nerve damage in my ears and it has affected my hearing. Heaing aids did not help. My stream is definitely weaker now, probably because there is nerve damage there and the muscles that enable me to push out the urine are weakened.
