| | So, who blew it today? ;) Ok, so, whom among us blew our good grub diabetic diets and not only got a visit from the Easter Bunny, but indulged their sweet tooth?
I confess, I did! I got ahold of some jelly beans, the orange and watermelon ones. Hmm, corrective bolus time.
Confession time...

| | Okay, so I wasn't a hog at the dinner table but I was a hog when I laid my hands on a bag of Reese's peanut butter eggs. I'm not a fan of Reese's but those eggs are to die for.

| | | What about this? What's with the sugar-free candies? If you read the carbs, they're usually very high, but the sugar often says zero. Are they safe to eat or not? |

| | Hi
I had a couple of birds egg sized turkish delight eggs today and yesterday. I'm trying really hard not to eat them all at once (like I usually do plus more) This year.
It is really hard with a choco/chipoholic husband!!

| | I was a good girl!!
Well... I did wrestle my mum for a good 15 minutes over a bag of cadbury solid eggs... we both pulled hair and bit... and we both laughed hysterically... but she won, and she hid the eggs from me after!!
Otherwise, I've been good... I'm saving myself for the birthday cake on Thursday

Hit 15mmol/l for a short while yesterday afternoon, but was soon down to 6mmol/l again

| | | Oh I've been a bad bad girl.
My whole family are chocoholics... so we do the egg giving on Friday. Who'd want to wait til Sunday when there's chocolate? lol.
So in the last few days I've gulped down a few Creme eggs, some home made chocolate ice cream, a couple of hot cross buns, a typical sized hollow chocolate egg, and.. omg I hate writing all this it seems like such a big list now... and a block of chocolate too.
*hangs head in shame*
I've managed to bolus ahead and stayed pretty good for most of it... but the results after hot cross buns weren't too hot. Just a few minutes ago I hit 10 (180) after thinking I felt low and digging in to more munchies when I was actually already heading for high. DOH. I REALLY should learn to test BEFORE eating. *sigh* So now I'm probably around 12 or 14, dunno coz I really don't want to test. No need to see that number when I already know it's gunna be evil lol.
I'm on the way down again though...Thank god for insulin. I will resume my normal well controlled schedule as of tomorrow!!

| | | I ate no candy at all. Didn't even had it in the house, well because I ate it all days ago!!!
Yesterday was a family members birthday and they got a huge birthday cake. 12" round 6 layer cake. Home made by someone who knows what they are doing. I had some after my dinner so no spike.
Sgt. how were your chocolate covered bugs that the bunny left you?

Are they safe to eat or not? | You've caught on to something that makes me crazy! Sugar free Cool Whip has 3 carbs per serving and "regular" Cool Whip has 2! Most of the time "sugar free" things have a couple carbs less than the "regular".
Copied and pasted . . . .
Sugar-free foods may play a role in your diabetes diet — but sugar-free doesn't mean carbohydrate-free. When you're choosing between standard products and their sugar-free counterparts, compare the food labels side by side. If the sugar-free product has noticeably fewer carbohydrates, the sugar-free product might be the better choice. But if there's little difference in carbohydrate grams between the two foods, let taste — or price — be your guide.
