| | | When I was Dx'd, my reading was over 450 (472, iirc)...since then my highest, I think was 295 although I'm not sure quite why it was that high - I noticed some people here on the forum the next day were talking about caffeine affecting their BS & I'd just finished drinking a 0 carb energy drink (after working a later-than-normal shift) so that could be it. I'll have to experiment more to see if that's what did it. |

335 (18.6) shortly after being released. I freaked out when I dropped into the mid-50s (about 3.0) and was slow to rise. I panic-ate, fell asleep, and awoke with a not-so-great number.
270 (15.0) due to an allergic reaction. A previously-fine whole-grain cereal started messing with me. Whether the one batch had invisible mold, or I'm now allergic to the cereal proper, I don't know; I've not tried it since that nasty excursion.
I've gone into the 250s (14.0 range) a few times. I probably have a couple 200-ish (11.0) days per month.
I'm at a greater risk of going low. I've gone sub-20 twice, into the 20s twice, and into the 30s too many times. Changing basals has helped; 50s (3.0-ish) are no longer a regular daily event. When I get around to trying it, I believe more-precise dosing will also help.

| | | In recent memory (that being the last year or so) I think I've hit the 30's once or twice. I think both involved copious amounts of booze and eating, so most like after I played hockey. :P

| | | highest ever 415 after pizza. The worst is that it wouldn't go down. Pizza stayed with me for almost 8 hours and after more than 10 corrections finally went down.
Pizza is history for me. |

| | | how high In the 600's when first diagnosed (as a type 1.5) then 450's while traveling in West Africa last October, about when I quit producing insulin. (BTW pizza's usually a no-no for me, but now w/Novalog insulin I can occasionally eat half an individual pizza on whole-grain crust not enough for a meal on its own, but still a treat w/side salad!) |

That's exactly what my A1c was at when DX'd
My BG at the time was over 1000, like 57mmol/L, never been higher than that. Doctors told me I should have been in a coma because of my size at the time (I was young and smaller at the time)
I've been over 500 (30 mmol) a few times since but thats quite rare. |

I had a dream once that I was 1080. It scared me awake. I occasionally do by blood sugar in my dreams and it's happened a few times that when I woke up and tested...I was the same number, and other times within the same range. I woke up panicking, grabbed my meter and was relieved to be just fine. | It was actually a hospital lab test RobiJo. My meter only reads up to 450 I think. That reading was at diagnosis and I was admitted to the hospital for a week.

| | | When I was admitted to the hospital with a blocked prostate and total kidney failure my BS was 515 and my A1C was 15. something.
Doc gave my wife a 50/50 chance of my surviving the night.
My highest at home hasn't ever exceeded 200.
