| | | What is the highest BG reading you've ever gotten? My highest was a little over a year ago. I tested before bed and it was 495. Tested a few minutes later and got 480. I went to the hospital where they did nothing for me but sat me in a room for 4 hours. Only tested me ONCE! I guess I won't bother going if it happens again.
So what's your highest reading?

sorry! | There are 179 noobie guest currently lurking. Things get repeated all the time, some like high morning BGs practically weekly. Don't worry about it.
My highest was 450/25 on diagnosis. I've hit 24.x a few times over the years. I don't ever recall any higher.

| | I have been in the thousand range (when diagnosed), but my meter reads HI after 450 so who knows how I have been when it gets there. Luckily, in the past few years my meter has rarely given me that greeting.

| | | Wow, in the 1000's I couldn't even imagine. When I was DX with gestational I was near 400 and was feeling all the symptoms of Ketoacidosis... it was very painful. Though when it was higher after been dx'ed with type 2 I never felt anything. I didn't urinate frequently or have dry mouth or the sharp stomach pains. Odd.

| | | When I was first diagnosed, I was above 450. I was diagnosed after going in for a life insurance exam and had been losing weight. For a week or so, I still had reading in the 300s. Now, 11 years after diagnosis, a reading of over 200 shocks me. |

| | | I've had my fair share of numbers above 400 and 500s. Almost always because I forgot to bolus for a meal. Never DKA though. I think because my highs are typically food related...they go up and then when I check it right back down.

| | | An older meter read "HIGH", which I think was over 500 on that meter. That was a while ago.
I remember having a few 400s in the past few years. Always food and/or dark beer related. Grazing and drinking don't do well, carbs add up QUICKLY.

| | At diagnosis last July i was at 400 (22.1 mmol/l).
a week later at my first CDE appointment i weighed in at 308 (17.1 mmol/l).
It took me 10 days to get ANY reading below 162 (9.0 mmol/l).
i got the Bernstein book 3 weeks after i saw my CDE for the first time and within 3 days i started getting consistent fasting readings between 72 and 90 (4.0 - 5.0 mmol/l).
nowadays i get annoyed with a fasting reading over 108 (6.0 mmol/l) and a post prandial over 140 (7.8 mmol/l).
The highest reading i have had in the last six months was a few 185s (10.3 mmol/l) when i had the flu in the beginning of March.
