diabetes and warm weather

I have a question, I am trying to figure out how to carry all my diabetes stuff now that summer is approaching. Right now it all fits into my coat but today it was to warm for coats for the first time this year and I had all this diabetes stuff to carry.

I bought an insulated lunch bag. Nobody has yet noticed in almost two years that I carry my lunch in a plastic grocery bag.

Eco Friendly Lead Safe Insulated Lunch Bags - ReusableBags.com :

I found one on sale at my grocery store in a bargain bin. My first was made by Thermos, but it had some accidents. It's replacement's maker is unknown.

I was wondering this as well. Sometimes I wonder if the temps that they suggest (under 85 degrees F) is a low estimation. I have a friend who has a daughter with T1 and they've been on vacation in the summer at Disney (pretty hot at that time) and didn't use anything to refrigerate and everything went fine. So I think anything insulated that will keep it moderately low will be fine. I mostly keep my stuff away from direct sunlight and definitely not in the car

Check out Frio's line of cooling pouches: FRIO :: Home
Been using mine for years. My system:

All of my supplies are kept in a Dia-Pak Deluxe: Medicool - Dia-Pak Deluxe - Since 1989 Dia-Pak has been the product of choice to keep insulin and related supplies organized and portable .

The insulin pens are in a Frio pouch that just so happens to fit perfectly in the Dia-Pak. The Dia-Pak then goe in an Igloo box that has a very large blue-ice block in it. It can actually get too cold, so I sometimes use some bubble wrap as a separator. I really only use the Igloo box if I think the car will be parked in the sun for an extended period.

If I need to carry the stuff with me, I just grab the Dia-Pak out of the Igloo box. Everything stays cool. Another advantage is that there is plenty of room in the Igloo box for "doggy bags".

Sounds complicated, but it's really a very simple solution.

We females are lucky. We just drop everything into our purse. If it doesn't fit, I get a bigger purse. Guess you will have to find a "man"bag of somekind. A backpack, a gym bag , or maybe a briefcase that you can carry everywhere. Just remember not to leave your supplies in the car when the temp to hot.
