| | | 1. What type of diabetes do you have?
2 2. At what age were you diagnosed?
25 3. What type of treatment are you using?
Started on Diet control, went to 2x500 Metformin, now down to 1x500 Metformin a day 4. Do you control it yourself (testing, insulin)? If not, who does?
Control it myself. 5. How many times a day do you test yourself?
When I was diagnosed I was told to test myself twice a day twice a week. I thought that was a little stupid, but I tend to test myself once a day, but today I tested myself 4 times. Depends on what I’ve eaten and how active I’ve been. 6. Does it affect your confidence level at all?
Not really, but I feel a lot more insecure than I used to. And that's pretty bad, considering how insecure I used to be. 7. Are you more careful with your diabetes when you are out with your peers?
Yes and no. If they are close friends, then I have no problem saying no to nice things that I know I’ll pay for later. If I’m around people who don’t know me very well, I have a tendency to buckle under pressure so that I don’t look like the odd one out. 8. How many times a week do you exercise?
1-2 hour walk 3-5 times a week. 9. How many times a week does your blood glucose go low?
Not too often. Maybe once or twice if I’ve forgotten to eat breakfast and a morning meeting runs into the afternoon. 10. How many times a week does it go high?
Too often…Chinese food and chips + lack of willpower are killers…
