Prior to pumping I was on 70/30. What info are you looking for?

Thumbs down Novomix 30

I did use this insulin and I withdrew from using it because I can get lower doses with Levermir instead.

I take 74U Novomix and now 44U Levemir, A vast differance.

I used to take mixed insulin.

I changed because mxied insulin doesn't allow you to have a varied life! To get you BS right all the time with mixed insulin you need to pretty much have a solid routin and eat the same thing all the time (at least the same amount of carbs). It required snacks between meals to avoid hypo's and was generally no use to me.

MDI gives you so much more freedom in what you do, what you eat, whether you eat at all or not. better fasting numbers. The only downfall is more injections... but for me that's not an issue.

After going to MDi i will never look back at mixed insulin... no thank you.

hope that helps?

Mixed insulins cannot give you the degree of blood glucose control that will allow you to avoid complications since there is no way to adjust the basal part without also changing the bolus. Separate basal/bolus as in MDI offers much better control without forcing you to "eat to the insulin" in order to counter frequent hypos or hypers.

ok. now I'm confused
I take 30/70 twice a day(38 and 32) + metformin 1/2 pill twice as well. my sugars are between 4.3-5.7 before meal and 2 hr after. I eat about 2 sl. of w.w. bread daily+veg+proteins(4 meals a day, small portions) drink plenty of water+decaf green tea. 1/2 banana + 1/2 GS apple a day.
Should I be looking into changing type of inculin?
Thanks

I have to admit, I did really well on 70/30, although I did have quite a few lows during the day.

I switched from 70/30 to Novolog because I went on the pump, babyslon.
